BOSSARENOVA TRIO (Morelenbaum/Kraus/Schmid) - Samba Prelúdio

Das „Bossarenova Trio“ begab sich auf eine Reise, die sich immer tiefer in die unterschiedlichen und gemeinsamen Wurzeln einarbeitete und schließlich daraus ein Projekt entwickelte, das Begriffe wie Acoustic / Electro / Balanco / Belcanto / Sodino / Whistling / Drumming / Playing  aufwarf und verwarf, der Essenz einzelner „Lieder“  aus verschiedenen Kulturkreisen und Zeiten nachspürte. Ohne Anbiederung an Zeitgeist oder klassische Formen entstand eine Melange, die als die eigenständige Sprache des Bossarenova Trios bezeichnet werden darf.  “Samba Prelúdio“ ist nicht weniger als ein Brückenschlag der Kulturen, der das klassische europäische Lied mit der musikalischen Sprache des südamerikanischen Kontinents verbindet, eine Verbindung von Bossa Nova mit Jazz und Klassik, wie sie bisher noch nicht versucht wurde.  Drei markante musikalische Charaktere nehmen den Hörer mit auf einen Spaziergang, bei dem Frederic Chopin Antonio Carlos Jobim („How Insensitive/Prelude op.28 No.4“) begegnet, ganz organisch musikalische Räume betreten und verlassen werden,  Franz Schubert’s „Ständchen (Serenata) wie selbstverständlich neben Marcos Valle’s Samba De Verao / So Nice steht oder eine portugiesische (von Arthur Nestrovski getextete) Version von Schumann’s / Heinrich Heine’s „Im wunderschönen Monat Mai“ („Clara – A Flor da Idade“) einer Eigenkomposition von Joo Kraus, Paula Morelenbaum und Ralf Schmid mit dem Titel „Primavera Verao“ folgt.   Aufgenommen in Deutschland und Brasilien atmet „Samba Prelúdio“ die Kraft, Kreativität und Harmonie einer über Jahre gewachsenen musikalischen Begegnung.

The “Bossarenova Trio” went on a journey that, immersed itself deeper and deeper while becoming familiar with different and reciprocal roots. A project ultimately evolved that grasped labels like Acoustic / Electro / Balanço / Belcanto / Sodino / Whistling / Drumming / Playing and cast them away again, music that picked up the trail of individual ‘songs’ from a variety of cultural spheres and eras. Without any attempt to curry favor with a particular ‘zeitgeist’ or classic form, what emerged was a melange that allows designation as the Bossarenova Trio’s very own language. “Samba Prelúdio” is nothing less than a work that bridges the cultural gap, that links the classic European ‘Lied’ with the musical language spoken on the South American continent, a juncture of Bossa Nova with Jazz and Classical Music in a way that hadn’t been tried yet.  Three striking characters packing an abundance of music take the listener along on a stroll where Frederic Chopin encounters Antonio Carlos Jobim (“How Insensitive/Prelude op.28 No.4”), where completely organic musical spaces are entered and left again, where Franz Schubert’s “Ständchen (Serenata)” stands alongside Marcos Valle’s “Samba De Verao / So Nice” as if it were only natural, or a Portuguese version of Schumann’s / Heinrich Heine’s “Im wunderschönen Monat Mai” (“Clara – A Flor da Idade”) with lyrics by Arthur Nestrovski is followed by a piece composed by Joo Kraus, Paula Morelenbaum and Ralf Schmid themselves bearing the title “Primavera Verao”.  Recorded in Germany and Brazil, “Samba Prelúdio” breathes all the power, creativity and harmony of a musical encounter that has blossomed over four years.
