PAX

Seit mehr als zwei Dekaden ist das Tingvall Trio ein zuverlässiger Garant für packenden Piano Trio Jazz mit griffigen Melodien und kraftvollen Rhythmen.  Achtmal wurden ihre Produktionen mit dem Jazz Award in Gold ausgezeichnet, ihr letztes Album „Birds“ erreichte wiederum die No.1 der Deutschen Jazz Charts und ausverkaufte Konzerte in ganz Europa zeugen von der Popularität der drei Wahl – Hamburger. Zur Vorbereitung des neuen Longplayers „Pax“ spielte das Trio Anfang des Jahres eine mehr als 20 Termine umfassende Konzerttournee, an deren Ende die Drei direkt in Ihr Lieblingsstudio, das ARTE SUONO von Klangmeister Stefanio Amerio in Italien, gingen. Das Resultat ist ein Album, das fast so energetisch aber auch zerbrechlich klingt wie ein Live-Konzert. Nie wurde das Trio  im Studio so schnörkellos eingefangen, ob in berührenden Balladen wie „A Promise“ oder typischen TT-Losgehnummern wie „Cruisin“.

 Dabei ist der Album - Titel „Pax“ ganz überlegt gewählt, Martin Tingvall erläutert:

„In einer Welt voller Unruhe und zunehmender gesellschaftlicher Polarisierung war es mir ein besonderes Anliegen, mit unserer Musik ein Zeichen für den Frieden zu setzen.

Bereits mit unserem Album Birds haben wir versucht, die beunruhigenden Entwicklungen unserer Zeit musikalisch zu reflektieren. Seitdem hat sich vieles auf der Welt weiter zum Negativen verändert.

Als Musiker möchte ich dem nicht schweigend zusehen. PAX soll zum Nachdenken anregen, zur Ruhe einladen – und ein klares Zeichen für den Frieden sein.“

„Pax“ wird neben den üblichen Formaten CD / LP und DIGITAL auch in einer Limited LP Edition veröffentlicht, bei der auf einer zweiten 10“ nicht nur die drei aus Spielzeitgründen fehlenden Titel der „normalen Vinylausgabe“ enthalten sind, sondern auch eine besondere Rhodes - Version des erfolgreichen TT – Klassikers „Hummingbird“, für Sammler ein echter Bonus.

Ab Herbst wird das Trio selbstverständlich das neue Werk auch live auf Europas  Bühnen bringen (Tourtermine unter www.skiprecords.com ) und dann den Zuhörern einmal mehr beweisen, dass sie zum Besten gehören, was der europäische Jazz zu bieten hat, sicher auch explizit verbunden mit der eindringlichen Message, die Titel wie „A New Hope“, „Shadows“  ,„A Promise“ oder „The End“ enthalten.

For more than two decades, the Tingvall Trio has been a reliable guarantor for gripping piano trio jazz with catchy melodies and powerful rhythms.  Their productions have been awarded the Jazz Award in Gold eight times , their last album "Birds" reached No.1 in the German Jazz Charts and sold-out concerts throughout Europe testify to the popularity of the three choices – Hamburgers. In preparation for the new longplayer "Pax", the trio played a concert tour of more than 20 dates at the beginning of the year, at the end of which the three went directly to their favorite studio, the ARTE SUONO of sound master Stefanio Amerio in Italy. The result is an album that sounds almost as energetic but also fragile as a live concert. Never before has the trio been captured in the studio so straightforwardly, whether in touching ballads like "A Promise" or typical TT lottery numbers like "Cruisin".

 The album title "Pax" was  chosen very carefully, Martin Tingvall explains:

" In a world full of unrest and increasing social polarization, it was a special concern of mine to set an example for peace with our music.

With our album Birds, we have already tried to reflect the disturbing developments of our time musically. Since then, much of the world has continued to change for the worse.

As a musician, I don't want to watch this in silence. PAX is intended to make people think, invite them to rest – and be a clear sign of peace."

 In addition to the usual formats CD / LP and DIGITAL, "Pax" will also be released in a Limited LP Edition, in which a second 10" not only contains the three missing titles of the "normal vinyl edition" but also a special Rhodes version of the successful TT classic "Hummingbird", a real bonus for collectors.

From autumn onwards, the trio will of course also bring the new work live to Europe's stages (tour dates under www.skiprecords.com ) and then prove to the listeners once again that they belong to the best that European jazz has to offer, certainly also explicitly connected with the haunting message that titles like "A New Hope", "Shadows", "A Promise" or "The End" contain.
