Luka Bloom : Before Sleep Comes |
 |
| |
There are times when the best ideas are born in an hour of need. Problems arising from a not-so-healthy right hand caused the elctric guitar to be banned from active use for a while, ending up developing a new, completely acoustic technique for himself. Luka Bloom tells it: "I found myself singing and writing whispery songs... and recorded these tracks over two nights. This a cd of non-performance. It's purpose is to help bring you closer to sleep." An apt way of decsribing that these songs, a blend of several new compositions and such traditionals as "The Water Is Wide" are intended above all to point the listener away from hectic of everyday life toward that twilight phase as the day comes to a close. Somnambulent snapshots that emanate an inner peace of mind, spectaculary unspectacular ehat makes the album so incredibly tight and authentic.
Press Quotes:
Stereo, November 2004:
"Audiophile Tip of the Month. Yes indeed, the ideal relaxation pill for neurotic, stressed-out big-city dwellers. The sound is once again superb. Everything sounds so three-dimensional and warm."
Audio Video Foto Bild, October 2004:
"Camomile tea for the ears."
Seasons 4'04:
"Luka Bloom has a magical sense of how to let the end of the day transcend into the relaxed atmosphere of a quiet evening."
