Peter Fessler : Signatures

Peter Fessler : SignaturesOver the years the pop artist of yore has evolved into a Latin jazz singer of international dimensions, and only recently convinced critics once again with his self-styled interpretations of jazz standards.

Artistic encounters with such eminent colleagues as Al Jarreau and Randy Crawford have additionaly refined his mixture of charisma, vocal acrobatics and sophisticated song material.

Good pop tunes with catchy hook lines, elegant contemporary jazz ranking on an international level, intimate reflections accompanied by an acoustic guitar, choir arrangements styled between Gregorian and vocalizing: FESSLER unites all of these on his album "Signatures" with the supreme ease of a man of conviction.

Outstanding jazz soloists such as Till Brönner, Ernie Watts or Chuck Loeb enhance the catchy melodies, boosting them into top-flight pop that sets FESSLER on a rising star with no end in sight.

In short, an excursion that allows listeners to experience the sum total of the musical styles identified with FESSLER. "Feel Fine" is reminiscent of the Trio Rio days, Brazil resounds in every note of "Oh Well Brazil", and on "Tomorrow" we experience a completely new remix of one of his very first compositions. On the international scene, the term "crossover" is used to describe this openness toward truly global sounds.
"Signatures" is crossover at its finest.
