Don Friedman |

Don Friedman is one of the most underrated figures in the business, though those "in the know" regard him as a pianist who has contributed most markedly to what we know as modern jazz. His discography ranging from the early years with Riverside on to musical tête-à-têtes with such widely diverse artists as Attila Zoller, Eric Dolphy, Booker Little, Joe Henderson or Lee Konitz offers cast-iron proof of his breadth. That Don Friedman's openess and wide-eyed curiosity toward all kinds of music is still alive and well doesn't come as a surprise. 2005 the New York based pianist celebrated his 70th birthday.
