Mitchel Forman |

Born 1956 in Brooklyn, NY the pianist started his professional playing in the late 70s and is since then one of the most sought after studio musicians of the jazz scene.
The distinguishing factor are the top-flight musical encounters in the course of his career which, without a doubt, have honed Mitchel Forman's prodigious talents.
Seven recordings under his own name stand juxtaposed against a calendar full of studio dates as a sideman. His list of credits includes such eminent jazz and fusion authorities as Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny, John Scofield, Mike Stern, Freddie Hubbard and Bill Evans. To top things off, he was a member of the legendary second generation of the Mahavishnu Orchestra and is currently co-leader of the allstar band Metro.
As a soloist for SKIP RECORDS he has already added brilliant nuances to albums of Wolfgang Haffner, Fessler and Carmen Cuesta. His willingness to experiment with both instrumentation and unusual structures is as typical for him as the lyrical dimension in his playing influenced by such sources as Chick Corea and Keith Jarrett.
